T206 Fred Mitchell "Toront"
This "Toront" variation is very similar to the printing flaw variation
"Nodgrass", but the letter is missing
at the end instead of the front.
The regular Fred Mitchell supposes to read
MITCHELL, TORONTO, but the variation reads as MITCHELL, TORONT.
On this specimen, besides the missing "O" at the end, all letters are printed
perfectly across the bottom, clear and evenly toned without a trace of fade.
This variation was caused by broken printing plate
or the ink was blocked by particle and the ink was not able to fully printed on the cardboard.
SIDE NOTE:
This is the only known "Toront" specimen and it has Piedmont 350 Series back.
